You gotta love those jeans, jacket and sunglasses. I believe this more than ever after watching the above video. I didn’t have much to offer beyond suggesting that they wait it out, but I did jokingly suggest that they put together an exhibit on the Confederate flag that utilized the Flaggers as a modernist interpretation/performance.

Individual Flaggers have challenged VMFA authorities in the past so there should have been little doubt as to how this situation would turn out.Ī few months ago I was contacted by someone at the VMFA to talk about how they might handle this protest. All attempts to branch out and get involved in other causes – most notably with the opening of the MOC in Appomattox – have failed to generate support. After months of protesting outside of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts over the removal of Confederate flags from the grounds of the “Old Soldier’s Home”/Pelham Chapel the Virginia Flaggers have little to show for their efforts. I eventually couldn't take it anymore and just left the call.It was just a matter of time. Is there a good way to discuss this with him, or should I just not even bother?Įdit: You guys will be surprised to find out that even after showing him this post and having him read through the comments, he still tried to argue every point for the next couple of hours. He doesn't believe that kills are what matter in the end (In a 5v5 shooter), but instead thinks that gadget usage is the ultimate decider of someone's rank. TLDR: Friend (Bronze) insults me (Diamond) because it's my fault we lose the games where I triple his kills because I didn't use gadgets well enough to help him. What is a good way to put this in words for him to understand, or should I stop trying to argue with him altogether? I've had countless discussions/arguments with him about this, but it seems impossible for him to view the game in terms of what HE should do differently, and not everyone else.

To him, aim doesn't matter if you know how to use gadgets correctly, which doesn't make sense to me if the enemy team needs to die for you to win. But he's too busy believing that all his Sova arrow lineups alone should deserve him Gold 3. I've explained to him that a player with good enough aim will be able to rank up on their own. The reason is his teammates and me not knowing how to use their gadgets to help him. There's a reason he's in Bronze 1 (Bottom 10% of players) after all, right? Nah. I've tried explaining to him that in order to solve the problem he has with me, he should look inwards instead. But back to that previous example where we lost and I had 30 kills and he had 9, he would blame the fact that I picked KAY/O because he sucks and offers nothing to the team. I never really care too much about the proper way to use them anyways if I can just run around killing everyone just as easily without them. The main reason he insults me is because I "don't know how to use gadgets correctly".

What isn't fun is getting ripped a new one every game for what seems like no reason to me. I don't watch any videos or anything about this game, so I know nothing about meta gadget usage or anything. I'm a more casual player when I play with him, but I can still have no issue tripling his kills (I used to play a lot of CS:GO). It's very common for us to lose the game with me having around 30 kills and him having one-digit kills. It's that I get flamed by him every game. I want to preface by saying that my friend isn't like this in real life, he is just extremely competitive when it comes to games. From his point of view, the main key to winning games is not getting kills, but gadget usage.
